Summer: Dog Ear Infections

The weather is getting warmer and you might find yourself taking your dog to dog beaches or other areas they can swim. One thing to look out for: doggy ear infections.

Dog ear yeast infections is one ear infection to look out for! Yeast infections occur when yeast, which is natural in both pets and humans, gets out of balance and grows out of control. Dogs that enjoy a lot of swimming, running and outdoor activities, are more prone to ear yeast infections during the summer because water and sweat can gather in the nooks, crannies and creases in their ears that yeast loves to grow in.

Dog yeast infection can be easily cured by visiting your vet. However, take preventative measures with dog ear cleaners and washes!
